The 6th ISCAS/USC/UMass Joint Workshop Was Held Successfully On May 29, 2014

Date: May 29, 2014.

The sixth ISCAS/US/UMass Joint Workshop was held on May 29, 2014, at ISCAS, Beijing. The theme of the Joint Workshop covers research areas such as trustworthy software development, process optimization, and open source software development. The workshop is sponsored by ISCAS-iTechs. Prof. Qing Wang, Director of ISCAS-iTechs, gave a warm welcome to all attendees at the beginning of the workshop.

Prof. Barry Boehm from USC-CSSE (University of Southern California, Center for Systems and Software Engineering), Prof. Leon. Osterweil and Prof. Lori Clarke from UMass-LASER (University of Massachusetts Amherst, Laboratory for Advanced Software Engineering Research) gave keynote about the Affordability-Based Software Engineering, Process-based Simulation and Guidance in Software Development, Process-Based Approach for Addressing Security Threats, respectively. Dr. Ramin Moazeni from USC and Associate Professor Xiao Liu from East China Normal University also gave wonderful presentations about Incremental Development Productivity Decline and Workflow Temporal Verification: An Efficient and Effective Approach for Delivering On-Time Completion respectively.

Faculties and students from iTechs introduced their latest research work on evidence based trustworthy software development, defect prediction method, release planning, and crowdsourcing development, etc.. Several researchers from Tsinghua University and Beihang University were also invited to join this Workshop.

The workshop becomes more and more powerful. Everybody attended the meeting learned a lot. All attendees expressed their willingness to collaborate with each other in the future.
